Job Summary

Mid-State Machine is seeking a skilled Welder 1st Class to join our fabrication shop team. As an Industrial Welder, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process, creating a wide range of metal products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate various welding techniques to join metal components.
  • Maintain and operate tools and equipment.
  • Perform housekeeping duties as needed.
  • Wear safety glasses and hearing protection at all times.
  • Follow written and oral instructions.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Welding certification preferred.
Experience
  • Experience with GMAW, GTAW, and FCAW 3G Vertical.
  • Carbon and Stainless-Steel experience required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of welding techniques and equipment.
  • Ability to work accurately and with precision.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and regulations.
Work Environment
  • The working environment is in an industrial shop; non-climate controlled and is often hot/humid.
  • Frequent exposure to moving equipment, machines, and shop tools, and other safety-sensitive hazards/risks.
Physical Requirements
  • Talk/Hear: Must have the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
  • Stand/Sit: Must be able to stand for a long period of time.
  • Walk: Frequently be able to walk distances through the shop and fields.
  • Use hands/fingers to handle or feel: Often use hands and arms for handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl: People in this position frequently need to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • See: Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Carry, weight, Lift: The person in this position occasionally be able to lift and carry up to 100lbs.
