Position: Senior Counsel for Environmental, Health, and Safety
Role Overview:
Stepan Company is seeking a seasoned legal professional to fill the role of Senior Counsel, concentrating on Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) issues. This pivotal position involves providing legal expertise and support to ensure adherence to regulations while fostering a safe workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offering legal advice on air quality, waste management, and safety regulations
- Collaborating with EHS teams on sustainability projects
- Overseeing legal considerations in significant business decisions related to EHS
- Educating internal stakeholders on EHS laws and compliance
- Keeping abreast of global EHS regulatory changes
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 7 years of legal experience in EHS
- Previous experience as in-house counsel is preferred
- Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and international EHS regulations
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities
Educational Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree is mandatory
