Job Summary

The Transportation Specialist will be responsible for operating a school bus to transport students with special needs. The ideal candidate will have a valid NYS driver's license, current CDL License or valid CDL permit with (P) and (S) Endorsements, and meet all State and Federal pre-employment requirements.

About the Role

This position requires a 10-month commitment, with the possibility of part-time or per diem work. As a Transportation Specialist, you will be working closely with students, staff, and parents to ensure safe and efficient transportation.

Responsibilities
  • Operate a school bus safely and efficiently
  • Assist students with disabilities in boarding and exiting the bus
  • Check the operating condition of the bus before each use
  • Report any mechanical issues to the bus garage
  • Instruct students on safe bus practices
Requirements
  • Valid NYS driver's license
  • Current CDL License or valid CDL permit with (P) and (S) Endorsements
  • Meet all State and Federal pre-employment requirements
  • Ability to pass a medical examination
  • Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test

Estimated salary: $42,120 - $46,396 per year, based on experience and location.
