We are seeking a skilled Bakery Cake Designer to join our team at Hy-Vee. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for creating visually appealing and delicious cakes for our customers.
Key Responsibilities:- Decorate bakery items to meet high standards of quality and presentation.
- Assist customers with their bakery orders by phone and in person, providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
- Work collaboratively with the bakery team to ensure efficient production and timely delivery of products.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of new designs and trends in cake decorating.
- Ensure department standards are met, including cleanliness, organization, and inventory management.
- Communicate effectively with the bakery manager and other team members to ensure seamless operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 6 months or less of similar or related work experience.
- Ability to solve practical problems, interpret instructions, and work independently.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and stand for long periods.
The duties for this position are normally conducted in a fast-paced store environment with exposure to flour dust, noise, and temperature extremes.
Equipment Used:Standard tools and equipment used in a bakery environment, including mixers, ovens, turntables, and decorating tools.
