Nurse-RN Per Diem Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to provide high-quality nursing care and services to a youth and adolescent population with emotional, behavioral, and physical needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete comprehensive nursing assessments, evaluations, and treatment plans for the physical and behavioral/emotional health of residents.
  • Manage outside provider visits, including annual assessments, and review lab and test results, reporting critical values to providers.
  • Order and obtain prior authorizations for medications, dispense medications, and report/discuss observed side effects or concerns with consulting psychiatrists.
  • Provide client and family education regarding medications and treatments, collaborate with staff regarding concerns and behaviors, and communicate with medical directors/providers regarding changes in client health/behavior.
  • Participate in Interdisciplinary Medication Review meetings, provide training to residential counselor staff, and update discharge planning needs.
  • Other duties as assigned within scope of practice and based on agency needs.

Requirements and Education:

  • RN Licensed in New York State.
  • Registered Nurse 1-2 years' experience preferred.
  • Experience working with youth and adolescent populations desired.
