Position Overview

The Maintenance Engineering Technician plays a vital role within our engineering department, ensuring the seamless operation of all technical aspects of the hotel. This position involves diagnosing and repairing electrically powered motors and devices, HVAC systems, plumbing, and carpentry tasks, along with minor automotive maintenance and painting duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct technical troubleshooting and repairs on electrical motors and devices.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • Address plumbing issues through effective troubleshooting and repair.
  • Execute minor carpentry tasks as needed.
  • Safely operate various power tools, including pressure washers and compressors.
  • Handle repairs on gas-fired equipment and door locks, as well as electronic devices, including office and audiovisual equipment.
  • Respond promptly and attentively to all guest requests.
  • Act swiftly in emergency or life-threatening situations.
  • Adhere to established safety protocols.
  • Document and communicate essential information in the engineering logbook.
  • Assist in the relocation and access of various objects.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the resort's fire, well water, septic, and irrigation systems.
  • Support hotel and company sustainability initiatives as part of our environmental program.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred experience as a technician or engineer in a hotel or property management setting.
  • Proficient in the use and safety of power tools.
  • Ability to read and follow technical instructions for mechanical equipment assembly and safety warnings.
  • Effective communication skills in English with guests, colleagues, and management.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
