Grounds Maintenance Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Grounds Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Good Samaritan. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the beauty and safety of our hospital grounds.

Essential Duties:

  • Mulch plant areas, around trees and signage, to maintain a clean and attractive appearance.
  • Prune trees and bushes to ensure they remain healthy and well-maintained.
  • Use a string weed trimmer to remove weeds and maintain the appearance of our grounds.
  • Assist in cleaning of outbuildings, storage areas, and parking lots as needed.
  • Edge sidewalks and curbs to maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Clean up any mess incurred while performing a job.
  • Adhere to all infection control policies and procedures.
  • Apply weed killer as needed.

Reassigned Duties:

  • Recycle all recyclable material when possible.
  • Perform any other jobs assigned by management.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, interacting with patients, visitors, and hospital employees.
  • Drive a motor vehicle to pick up and deliver supplies.
  • Assist with setup and teardown of hospital events.

Job Specifications:

  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Experience: Two or more years of work experience and a valid driver's license.
