What You Will Do
- Prepare the sterile field and set up instruments.
- Assist the Surgeon by passing instruments, retracting, and other tasks.
- Perform surgical counts with the circulating nurse.
- Handle intra-operative medications, solutions, and specimens.
- Use state-of-the-art supplies and equipment to get the job done.
- Cares about people.
- Works well with a team of passionate healthcare providers.
- Is detail-oriented, organized, and has strong analytical skills.
- Follows hospital policies, guidelines, and takes clear direction.
- Maintains confidentiality of PHI and other sensitive information.
- Performs well in a fast-paced work environment.
Current certification in surgical technology. Completion of a CST First Assistant course in which the curriculum addressed all the content areas of the Core Curriculum for the CST First Assistant and a degree or certificate was awarded. Maintains certification as a Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) through National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). Current CPR certification.
