Cornell University is seeking a skilled Plumber to join our Facilities Management team. As a Plumber, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and appliances. You will work on a variety of projects, from routine maintenance to complex repairs, and will be expected to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities- Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and appliances
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and inspecting equipment
- Respond to emergency calls and perform repairs as needed
- Work with other tradespeople to complete projects and ensure a safe working environment
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
- High school diploma or equivalent required; apprenticeship or vocational training in plumbing preferred
- At least 5 years of experience in the plumbing trade
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
- Apprentice certification in plumbing
- Experience with high-pressure steam boilers
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations
