Overview
Note: Kern Community College District is continuously accepting applications for part-time, hourly faculty pools. This enables the division to promptly reach out to qualified candidates when a need arises, without the delay of a formal advertisement. If there is interest or a requirement within the specific department, applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be contacted by department supervisors, deans, or division chairs. Applications submitted will remain active for a period of up to two years.

Kern Community College District is seeking applications for part-time, hourly adjunct instructors. The starting salary is $60.00/hour; hourly rates may vary based on assignment type and the Lecture Hour Equivalent (LHE) formula. For further details, please refer to the CCA collective bargaining agreement or your college HR office.

Key Responsibilities
This position is part of an adjunct pool that will be utilized to fill part-time adjunct roles for the academic year.

Essential Qualifications
Master's Degree in education OR an equivalent qualification

OR - The equivalent. Certain combinations of education, experience, and other achievements in the field may be considered equivalent to the stated minimum qualifications for these roles. Candidates who believe they possess such equivalent qualifications must request and submit an APPLICATION FOR EQUIVALENCE form, including supporting documents. Minimum Qualifications for Faculty and Administration in California Community Colleges

AND - A demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Preferred Qualifications:
Possession of a master's degree in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, career development, marriage and family therapy, or marriage, family, and child counseling, OR the equivalent (NOTE: A bachelor's degree in one of the listed fields and a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) is an alternative qualification for this discipline.)

Note: Degrees and credits must be from accredited institutions (Title V Section). Any degree from a country other than the United States, including Canada and Great Britain, must be evaluated by an evaluation service.
