About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Barista to join our team at Understudy. As a Barista, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring that every guest has a positive experience in our café.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greeting and Serving Guests: Greet all guests in a timely and warm manner, and provide a welcoming and efficient service.
  • Coffee Knowledge: Be knowledgeable about our coffee program, including the different types of coffee drinks and our partnership with Black Oak Coffee.
  • Cleanliness and Maintenance: Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for cleanliness, maintenance, and use of all coffee equipment.
  • Training and Development: Learn and execute all training materials from the Understudy manual, with a focus on our coffee program.
  • Food and Beverage Knowledge: Have full knowledge of food and beverage ingredients, and be able to describe all items to guests and have awareness of food sensitivities and allergies.
  • Point of Sale (POS) System: Be knowledgeable about the TOAST POS system, and be able to execute a variety of POS functions, such as processing payments, handling returns, and entering guest purchases in an accurate and efficient manner.
  • Café Maintenance: Perform opening and end of day functions pertaining to the coffee station and overall café, with a focus on cleanliness, restocking, and keeping all shelving, refrigerators, and displays organized.
  • General Maintenance: Keep track of any coffee supplies needed, restock food or beverage items, and keep a detailed eye on guest needs and provide excellent guest service.
