Department: Plant Maintenance & Operations
Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Texas Driver's License with an insurable driving record
- Current Journeyman Electrician license from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation
- A minimum of four years of experience in the electrical field under the supervision of a Master Electrician
- Experience in commercial and light industrial electrical systems maintenance and installation
- Preferred experience in computer and data systems installation
- Successful completion of a fingerprinting background check prior to employment
Skills and Abilities
- Proficient in English (both written and verbal)
- Skilled in using tools and materials of the trade and capable of performing necessary calculations
- Able to read and interpret electrical engineering schematics
- Preferred possession of a Texas Class B (CDL) Driver's License
- Knowledgeable in the current National Electrical Code and relevant local electrical codes
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee maintenance and construction of electrical systems across all facilities without direct supervision
- Maintain a well-equipped service vehicle and inventory to ensure efficient task completion
- Assist in training junior technicians
- Follow established protocols for sourcing materials and equipment
- Coordinate efforts with other departments and external contractors
- Ensure proper maintenance of tools, test equipment, and vehicles
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Working Conditions
Maintain composure under pressure. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential. The role requires lifting weights ranging from 10 to over 75 pounds, climbing ladders, and working in various environments including confined spaces and inclement weather.
Must be capable of handling potentially hazardous materials safely and responding to after-hours emergencies. Flexibility in scheduling may be required, including weekend and holiday availability.

Type of Employment: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Hourly Rate: Competitive based on experience
Work Days: 260 days per year (includes vacation and holiday pay)
