Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at Somerset Hills Hotel, a Tapestry Collection by Hilton. As a Culinary Specialist, you will be responsible for preparing culinary delights for our guests and hotel clientele. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the highest quality of food and a memorable dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare food items in accordance with production requirements and quality standards.
- Start food items that are prepared ahead of time, making sure not to prepare more than estimated needs.
- Work all stations on the kitchen line, including broiler, sauté, fry, pantry, and expediter stations.
- Date all food containers and rotate as per the SOP, making sure that all perishables are kept at proper temperatures.
- Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull, and line set up.
- Assist in keeping the buffet stocked and return all food items not used on next shift to designed storage areas.
- Perform other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent experience.
- Culinary certificate or degree preferred.
- Six months to one year of experience in a food and beverage services environment or establishment.
- Strong knowledge of operating industrial-sized ovens and cooking ranges.
- Ability to read, speak, and understand English.
- Ability to lift, push, carry, and stand continuously for long periods of time.
