Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide essential support to students in schools. This role offers a unique chance to make a significant impact on students' educational experiences and help them reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Create and implement tailored IEPs to meet the diverse needs of students with visual impairments.
  • Provide Specialized Instruction and Support: Offer specialized instruction and support to students to enhance their educational experience and independence.
  • Collaborate with Educational Teams: Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment.
  • Adapt Instructional Materials and Methods: Adapt instructional materials and methods to meet the diverse needs of students with visual impairments.
  • Monitor and Assess Student Progress: Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting strategies as needed to support their success.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or Related Field: Hold a Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Visual Impairment, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Teaching Certification in Visual Impairments: Possess current teaching certification in Visual Impairments for the state of California.
  • Experience Working with Visually Impaired Students: Have previous experience working with students who have visual impairments, which is highly desirable.
  • Strong Communication and Organizational Skills: Demonstrate strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to Work Collaboratively: Possess the ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and educational staff.
