**Job Summary:**

Knife River Northwest is seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic to join our team in Portland, Oregon. As a Fleet Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing class 8 trucks and trailers, including hydraulic repair, brake work, electrical repairs, and welding.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair class 8 trucks and trailers, including hydraulic repair, brake work, electrical repairs, and welding.
  • Perform service repairs in the field.
  • Work on a wide variety of units from small fleet vehicles, class 8 trucks, and trailers.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork.
  • Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors observed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Previous mechanical experience on class 8 trucks and trailers.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Welding and fabrication experience desirable.
  • Driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal background check, physical/functional exam, and drug screen.
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude towards all team members.
