Bergman KPRS is in search of a skilled Commercial Superintendent with extensive experience in various sectors including healthcare, retail, and food service construction. As a prominent General Contractor and Project Management firm, we value individuals who thrive in challenging environments and possess a comprehensive understanding of construction processes across multiple trades from start to finish.
The ideal candidate will be based in the Orlando area or nearby regions and should be open to traveling to adjacent states as project demands arise. Key responsibilities will include overseeing field operations for assigned projects, which encompasses organization, planning, coordination, scheduling, quality assurance, and adherence to safety regulations in line with Bergman KPRS standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate subcontractors, consultants, and vendors to ensure project milestones are met.
- Conduct quality assurance checks on ongoing work.
- Facilitate communication with the project team regarding changes and material submissions.
- Ensure subcontractors are executing their contractual obligations effectively.
- Organize necessary inspections with local authorities.
- Monitor compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards.
- Identify and resolve conflicts that may arise during construction.
- Maintain a detailed daily log of site activities.
- Ensure all identified deficiencies are addressed by subcontractors.
- Lead weekly meetings with subcontractors to synchronize project efforts.
- Issue notices for non-compliance related to quality or scheduling issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized job site at all times.
- Assist in the identification and completion of punch lists.
- Support budgeting, bidding, and subcontract award processes.
- Help in securing necessary permits and approvals.
- Compile and maintain records of project material submissions.
- Recognize areas of work that fall outside the subcontracted scope.
- Demonstrate teamwork by balancing individual and team responsibilities, welcoming feedback, and fostering a positive team environment.
- Exhibit professionalism by treating others with respect, managing stress effectively, and taking responsibility for actions.
- Adhere to safety protocols and report any unsafe conditions.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of proven experience with a solid understanding of various construction trades.
- Hands-on experience as a Superintendent on-site.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and technical documents.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and ProCore.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
