Utilizing advanced audiovisual tools and practical workshop activities, the instructor will significantly contribute to the technicians' automotive expertise.

Success in this position requires a passion for building relationships and fostering connections in a dynamic, collaborative, and hands-on setting. Instruction may take place in various environments, including customer sites or non-UTI facilities. Strong presentation abilities are essential, alongside the capacity to meet established standards and objectives within designated timeframes, which may involve independent decision-making. Consequently, effective planning and problem-solving skills are crucial for thriving in this role.

Language Requirement: Must be bilingual in Spanish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspire and Educate: Cultivate an engaging and inclusive learning atmosphere where students and technicians can thrive, sharing your expert knowledge and fostering their enthusiasm for the OEM.
  • Hands-On Training: Adhere to the instructor's guide's learning objectives and course outlines. Leverage strong OEM technical expertise to instruct dealer technicians and elevate their automotive skills. The instructor will blend classroom instruction with practical workshop settings to fulfill curriculum requirements, ensuring delivery is dynamic while complying with OEM course standards.
  • Curriculum Development: Assist in creating classroom-ready curriculum based on original equipment manufacturer products and service manuals, including lesson plans, visual aids, assessments, practical applications, and demonstrations.
  • Mentorship: Guide and coach technicians during practical workshop sessions.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and OSHA standards, promptly reporting and addressing any unsatisfactory conditions.
  • Administrative Duties: Collaborate with the OEM training department to guarantee the availability of training materials, necessary tools, and equipment, while documenting training outcomes as directed by OEM management. Complete assigned administrative tasks punctually and comply with the OEM Corporate Travel Policy.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience: Previous experience as an automotive technician is required. Technical experience with OEM vehicles is essential. Prior instructional experience in an OEM setting is preferred, with a minimum of five years as an instructor in a technical field being advantageous.
  • Language Requirement: Must be bilingual in Spanish.
  • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary for effectively engaging with technicians, students, colleagues, and OEM dealer personnel.
  • Organizational Skills: Demonstrated ability in planning, prioritization, time management, and adaptability in a changing environment.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, along with the ability to manage OEM software applications.
  • Technical Skills: Capability to set up, deliver, and troubleshoot both invasive and non-invasive vehicle faults.
  • Professionalism: Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, demonstrating sound judgment.
