Position Summary

The Logistics Terminal Supervisor is responsible for instilling the ITS culture, achieving growth and profitability targets, and safely managing daily operational activities in support of our clients within their terminal. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, fulfilling customer service expectations, driver planning and management, collaborating with colleagues to oversee equipment needs, promoting a safety-first culture, ensuring DOT compliance, and driving business development to create opportunities for other ITS business units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete Terminal P&L ownership and forecasting duties.
  • Analyze expenditure, financial, and operational reports to devise strategies for enhancing profits and refining processes. Prepare recommendations based on findings for regional management review.
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Sales Team to formulate a strategy for the Terminal that encourages strategic business growth.
  • Establish trusted relationships with customers that unlock opportunities for Terminal expansion and facilitate connections with other ITS business units, ensuring the success of these relationships.
  • Develop and execute action plans to guarantee productive utilization of drivers and equipment while meeting service objectives.
  • Understand market rates and apply negotiation skills to achieve balanced decisions that satisfy customer, employee, and company needs.
  • Manage safety in accordance with Company, OSHA, and DOT regulations, ensuring all personnel adhere to ITS Logistics' behavioral safety standards.
  • Recruit and enhance driver retention by providing support, guidance, and assistance to operations and drivers.
  • Create and implement strategic plans for Terminal operations and performance.
  • Foster effective working relationships with local leaders of other ITS business units.
  • Ensure that all necessary compliance and billing documentation is submitted promptly.
  • Interpret, implement, and enforce Terminal Work Instructions and Company policies.
  • Act as a Leader, exemplifying the behaviors expected of all employees by the company.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a robust blend of strategic and tactical business development and operational expertise to fulfill the responsibilities of this role. Specific skills and qualifications include:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Eight to ten (8 – 10) years of experience in fleet/transportation operations management (3PL experience preferred but not mandatory).
  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to negotiate and influence others.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with drivers, peers, subordinates, customers, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Excellent analytical, judgment, and critical thinking abilities.
  • A strong sense of urgency, capable of remaining calm and performing well in high-pressure situations.
  • Robust organizational, communication, and logistical skills with effective problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to evaluate existing processes, identify enhancements, and implement improved methods.
  • A strong work ethic and intrinsic motivation to exceed all expectations and requirements of the role.
  • Familiarity with the region and surrounding areas.

The compensation for this position is highly competitive and includes a comprehensive benefits package with a matching 401k. Base Salary Range: $70,000, this position is eligible for a performance-based incentive.
