Job Overview:
Our client is seeking dedicated and ambitious individuals to become part of their survey and subsurface utility engineering teams. The primary duty of this role is to support the Crew Chief in executing the team's designated field survey or utility locating assignments. Initially, this position will be within the SUE department, utilizing underground utility locating instruments and performing excavation of test holes to ascertain the depth of underground utilities.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage in physically demanding tasks, including excavation of test holes.
  • Operate various equipment such as Vac Truck Equipment, jackhammers, pogo-tampers, concrete saws, compressors, vacuum hoses, and air lances.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on equipment.
  • Receive cross-training in surveying techniques and assist survey crews as required.
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Willingness and capability to perform strenuous labor.
  • Ability to work outdoors in challenging weather conditions.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and ability to pass a motor vehicle record check.
  • Willingness to travel, potentially for extended periods during the week.
  • Overtime may be necessary based on project demands.
  • Capability to lift weights of 50 lbs or more.
  • Prior experience in utility locating or surveying is advantageous.
