Vocational Instructor

As a Vocational Instructor, you will have the opportunity to create a learning environment that fosters growth and development in our inmates/detainees. Your goal will be to provide instruction and guidance in various labor and technical skills, helping them to maximize their learning potential and achieve their goals.

Responsibilities:

* Provide instruction and guidance in labor and technical skills through classroom instruction, demonstration, and practical exercises.
* Maintain accurate records of student progress, including testing, attendance, and general record-keeping.
* Assess the educational needs of inmates/detainees and develop individualized lesson plans to address those needs.
* Administer, score, and interpret examinations and proficiency indicators.
* Counsel students on their performance, behavior, and personal problems.

Requirements:

* Any trade experience (e.g., HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Welding, Barber, Commercial Driving (CDL), etc.).
* Bachelor's degree or high school diploma/equivalency and five (5) years of relevant wage-earning work experience.
* Two (2) years of teaching experience.

Physical Requirements:

* Frequently: lift or carry up to 10 lbs.; bend, stoop, reach above shoulder level, walk, sit, or stand.
* Occasionally: lift or carry up to 20 lbs.; push or pull up to 40 lbs.
