Job Title: Alarm Construction Technician

At Allied Fire Protection, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Alarm Construction Technician to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Alarm Construction Technician will be responsible for the installation, service, and troubleshooting of fire alarm systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Installation and Service: Install, service, and troubleshoot fire alarm systems, including all related equipment.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Oversee, direct, and delegate tasks to ensure project completion deadlines are met, scheduling requirements are fulfilled, and goals established by the fire alarm manager are exceeded.
  • Project Management: Ensure project results are achieved within financial and productivity budgets.
  • Paperwork and Administration: Accurately complete, execute, and process paperwork/electronic or paperless required by the office and corporate management systems.
  • Training and Development: Instruct and train helpers, apprentices, or other personnel in the basic process of service, repair, and/or system installation.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory on vehicle.
  • Other Duties: Perform all other duties assigned.

  • Safe Driving: Hold yourself accountable for safe driving of company vehicles.
  • Stop Work Authority: Ensure awareness and support of stop work authority.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge and Skills: Must have knowledge of fire alarm systems, understand fire alarm installation requirements, and be able to properly read fire alarm blueprints, submittals, and operation/product manuals.
  • Education: Minimum education of high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certifications: Forklift and scissor lift certification, preferred; FAL required.
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of experience.
  • Skills and Competencies: Ability to take direction from upper management, accurately complete and maintain all paperwork, maintain vehicle and tools as per company policy, and possess valid state driver's license and good driving record.
