Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate individual and group creative arts therapy sessions, establishing both long-term and short-term objectives based on patient observations and referrals.
- Design and execute diverse, goal-oriented group activities utilizing various creative modalities such as art, music, drama, and dance as effective therapeutic instruments.
- Assist in the management, maintenance, and procurement of necessary equipment and materials for creative arts therapy sessions, including presentation tools and supplies.
- Plan and deliver structured experiences aimed at improving patient self-awareness and self-expression.
- Promote independent creative expression through various artistic mediums, including music and related forms.
- Maintain up-to-date clinical documentation for all patient sessions.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of therapy sessions and implement necessary adjustments.
- Collaborate as a team member in ongoing patient assessment and treatment processes.
- Participate in treatment team meetings and supervisory discussions.
- Perform additional related duties as required, with all responsibilities considered essential functions of the role.
- A Master's Degree is required, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- A current license to practice as a Creative Arts Therapist in New York State is mandatory, along with any specialized certifications as needed.
- 1-3 years of pertinent experience is required.
- Experience in Music Therapy is preferred.
