Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing and guiding the manufacturing workflows. This individual will be responsible for formulating, communicating, and implementing effective operational strategies that prioritize safety, productivity, quality, and employee engagement. The supervisor will lead a dedicated team of leaders and hourly staff to achieve and surpass operational objectives. This facility employs lean manufacturing principles and seeks a leader who can actively engage in continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee departmental workflow to maximize productivity.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality products.
  • Interpret and convey blueprints and BOM to team members.
  • Enforce employee discipline and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Coordinate production schedules and make necessary adjustments.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Communicate effectively with employees regarding safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Provide training and cross-training for team members.
  • Monitor job priorities and adjust as needed.
  • Relay departmental needs to upper management.
  • Address parts issues with management and track resolutions.
  • Continuously assess production methods to enhance workflow and resource utilization while minimizing waste.

  • Facilitate ongoing training on lean manufacturing and Kaizen principles.

  • Familiarity with MRP systems, particularly Movex.
  • Ability to interact with production leadership as necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain focus and manage multiple tasks within tight deadlines.
  • Ability to remain composed in a fast-paced work environment requiring flexibility and urgency.
  • Minimal travel required.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit at a desk and work on a computer, occasionally stand, walk, and use hands to handle objects or controls. The employee must occasionally lift or move office supplies weighing up to 20 pounds. Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times while on the manufacturing floor.
