Seeking Physician-Scientist for Neurodegenerative Disease Research

The Department of Neurology at Stony Brook University's Renaissance School of Medicine is seeking a talented physician-scientist to join our multidisciplinary team focused on developing and applying bench research or neuroimaging technologies to study Parkinson's disease and other neurodegenerative disorders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a robust basic or translational research program
  • Serve as a mentor to research and clinical trainees
  • Conduct bench, clinical, or translational research
  • Secure extramural funding and manage research grants
Requirements:
  • Ph.D., M.D., or M.D., Ph.D. degree (or foreign equivalent)
  • Research experience and accomplishments in basic, translational, or clinical research
  • Board certification in neurology by the ABPN and medical licensure in New York
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Evidence of success competing for extramural funding
  • Experience managing a basic research laboratory or leading clinical trials
