Job Overview

The Landscape Maintenance Technician operates under standard supervision, engaging in various aspects of groundskeeping and horticulture.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform mowing, trimming, fertilization, and irrigation of church properties.
  • Conduct repairs and upkeep of fences, pathways, and water distribution systems.
  • Analyze soil samples and formulate fertilization strategies.
  • Replace and amend soil in flower beds across church properties.
  • Identify and troubleshoot plant health issues, applying necessary treatments.
  • Design, install, and maintain irrigation systems effectively.
  • Carry out tree pruning and the planting of new flora.
  • Assist in the maintenance of irrigation systems.
  • Install and service water pumps as required.
  • Maintain certification for working in confined spaces.
  • Operate light machinery and tools as needed.
  • Perform general labor tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in landscaping or grounds maintenance.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Possession of a valid Texas Driver's License.

EQUIPMENT UTILIZED:

  • Tractors, mowers, edgers, trimmers, saws, and various hand tools.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift weights ranging from 75 to 100 pounds.
  • Capability to work in extreme weather conditions.

MENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Monitor plant health and determine appropriate schedules for watering, fertilization, and chemical applications. Ability to interpret soil analysis reports and mix necessary chemicals accordingly.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be a born-again believer and adhere to the doctrines upheld by the organization.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team, maintaining unity and avoiding division.
  • Consistent attendance is essential.
