Job DescriptionKingsmill Resort Bartender
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Bartender to join our team at Kingsmill Resort. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for providing exceptional guest service by mixing quality cocktails, pouring a proper draft, and decanting wine to achieve the best taste. You will also be responsible for providing excellent customer service by following preferred standards for Bartenders.
Responsibilities:
- Guest Service: Perform all duties toward the goal of providing excellent guest service in an efficient manner.
- Policy and Procedure: Follow all policies, procedures, and service standards.
- Food and Beverage Service: Accurately record and enter all food and beverage items into the POS system; produce, pick up, garnish, and serve food and beverages promptly to guests; collect and process forms of payment; ensuring guest satisfaction throughout.
- Sales and Marketing: Maximize sales by using menu knowledge and suggestive selling techniques.
- Staff Development: Motivate and educate staff in up-selling and wine salesmanship.
- Beverage Service: Ensure established standards of beverage service are met.
- Alcohol Service: Offer and serve alcoholic beverages while adhering to established alcohol policies.
- Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain cleanliness of lounge and service areas; ensure work area is orderly and properly stocked.
- Cash Handling: Collect accurate payment from guests and members and deposit the exact amount of sales.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years old.
- Experience: Required 1 year of bartending experience in a casual environment.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to organize and prioritize while maintaining a calm and pleasant demeanor.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with guests, co-workers, and supervisors.
- Knowledge and Skills: Ability to absorb large amounts of information quickly: service procedures, beverage and food menus as appropriate, alcohol point of sales. Knowledge of brands, selections, and mixology recipes. Computer experience and knowledge of ordering procedures. Knowledge of basic health standards and sanitation procedures. Certification in the TIPS alcohol awareness program is required within 30 days of hire. Must have cash handling/credit card training within 30 days from hire. Possess Food Handlers Certification within 30 days of hire.
- Physical Demands: Must be able to stand for long periods of time, walk, lift, and carry a minimum of 50 pounds, bend, stretch, and reach for 8-hour shifts.
- Availability: Ability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
