Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Certified Surgical Technician to join our team at Bon Secours Mercy Health. As a key member of the surgical team, you will be responsible for preparing and providing the necessary sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the care, preparation, and maintenance of sterile and non-sterile supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain open communication with members of the surgical team to ensure a collaborative work environment.
  • Assist in training and orientation of students and new staff members.
  • Comply with established hospital policies, procedures, and practices to ensure quality, efficiency, and safety standards are met.
  • Attend educational programs as prescribed by departmental policy and individual need, and maintain all required certifications.
Requirements
  • Certified through a Nationally Recognized Certifying Agency (e.g., NBSTSA or NCCT).
  • CPR certification required, with completion within 6 months of hire.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associates Degree, Vocational Certification, or Military Certificate in Surgical Technology preferred.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads. You may be exposed to high noise levels, bright lights, and physical altercations. You will also be required to use personal protective equipment and devices, and learn the policies concerning infection control.
