Job Summary

The Chemist I will perform a variety of moderately complex chemical analyses on water, wastewater, and air, using prescribed procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of chemical laboratory methods, procedures, materials, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform chemical analyses and tests, and operate related equipment, ensuring adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Assist in research studies and investigations of alternative procedures and equipment.
  • Provide technical direction to technicians and laboratory support personnel.
  • Maintain current knowledge of analytical procedures and equipment.
  • Follow SOPs to maintain accurate and reliable data.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related field.
  • One year of experience in chemical analysis, quality control, and statistical techniques.
  • Thorough knowledge of state-of-the-art chemical laboratory methods, procedures, materials, and equipment.
Working Conditions

The Chemist I will work in a laboratory environment, with occasional field work. The role requires the ability to lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move more than 50 pounds.
