RN Cardiovascular Surgeon Assistant

Key Responsibilities
As a Registered Nurse in our CVOR team, your key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the surgical team during cardiovascular procedures, including preparing the operating room and ensuring all necessary equipment is sterile and functional.
- Preparing patients for surgery, including pre-operative assessments, administering medications, and providing emotional support.
- Monitoring patients' vital signs, administering medications, and managing any complications that arise during surgery to ensure patient stability and safety.
- Providing immediate post-operative care in the recovery room, including monitoring patient recovery, managing pain, and ensuring smooth transitions to the ICU or step-down units.
- Working closely with cardiovascular surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and other OR staff to provide coordinated, patient-centered care.
- Accurately documenting all aspects of surgical care, including patient assessments, interventions, and surgical outcomes, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN), a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington, and at least 2 years of experience in an operating room setting, with a focus on cardiovascular surgeries preferred. BLS and ACLS certifications are required; CNOR certification is preferred. National Provider NRP - American Academy of Pediatrics certification is required upon hire. You should possess strong clinical skills in surgical nursing, particularly in cardiovascular procedures, excellent communication and teamwork abilities, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
