Job Description

Overview

Motorola Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and experienced technologist to join our team as a Senior System Technologist. This role will be responsible for the optimization and support of complex mission-critical communication systems, providing technical support for specialized systems and product applications, and collaborating with engineering, project management, and sales personnel to design, implement, and optimize advanced communication systems.

Responsibilities
  • Optimize and support complex mission-critical communication systems, including troubleshooting, provisioning, and performance optimization.
  • Provide technical support for specialized systems and product applications, including software-driven electronics, communication system infrastructure, and RF and broadband architecture.
  • Collaborate with engineering, project management, and sales personnel to design, implement, and optimize advanced communication systems.
  • Develop solutions to difficult technical problems encountered during system implementation, upgrades, or support issues.
  • Perform preventative maintenance routines to ensure proper system operation, focusing on trend analysis and documentation of results.
  • Work with local and remote teams to accomplish complex tasks for mission-critical communications.
  • Must be able to work on-call with the local team(s) on rotation for after-hours support and storm response.
Candidate Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience in LMR, RF Systems, Radio Frequency, Radio Communications, Wired/Wireless Communication Systems, Networking Equipment, Motorola equipment, Military experience, or IT.
  • Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customers.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.

  • Juniper networks (JNCIA preferred but not required)
  • Nokia MPLS
  • CompTIA Network +
  • CompTIA Security +
  • ETA CETa or better
  • Motorola R56 Installer
  • Knowledge of Firewalls, MPLS, and OSI model
  • Knowledge of server hardware, virtual machines, Microsoft and Linux-based servers
