Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech and Language Pathologist to join our team at Freeport School District 145. The successful candidate will provide speech/language therapy to students with communication disorders, working closely with classroom teachers and parents to develop comprehensive treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments and develop individualized programs (IEPs) to address students' speech and language needs;
  • Collaborate with school staff to develop and implement strategies for improving oral communication and speech skills;
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with district policies;
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff, both verbally and in writing;
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices and research in speech-language pathology, applying this knowledge to improve student outcomes.
Requirements
  • Illinois Type 73 Certification with Speech-Language Pathologist Endorsement;
  • Master's Degree from an ASHA-accredited program in speech-language pathology;
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including students, parents, and staff;
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail and confidentiality.
Working Conditions

This is a nine-month position, with salary and hours to be established by the Board of Education under the teacher's salary schedule. Performance evaluations will be completed in accordance with the Freeport Education Association (FEA) contract.
