Job Overview
Schulte Hospitality Group is seeking a dynamic and service-oriented Sales Manager to join our team. As a Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving customer loyalty and growing share of the account by delivering exceptional service throughout each customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage business travel accounts to maximize business potential
- Negotiate group business, guest room rates, meeting room rental, and hotel services within assigned markets to meet or exceed hotel revenue goals
- Be aware of departmental revenue and upsell at every possible opportunity
- Ensure all pertinent aspects of solicitation, closing, and customer communications are complete and documented
- Maintain existing accounts with an active trace/follow-up system
- Identify and solicit new accounts from telemarketing, appointments, site tours, cold calls, and inquiries
- Develop, maintain, and prospect a Target List of accounts and communicate updates to the Director of Sales
- Assist with group rooming lists, daily inspections of guest folios, communication with the front office on group arrival, communication with accounting regarding guest billing, and communication with the Revenue Management team on group room blocks
- Conduct pre- and post-conference meetings when agreeable with the client
- Attend property-specific receptions to generate leads and interact with customers
- Organize and execute local area blitzes
- Establish relationships with local businesses and organizations and be an active member in local industry associations
- Build relationships with competitors in like roles to stay informed about trends in the market and industry
- Conduct tours of the hotel and banquet facilities; entertain qualified potential clients in accordance with company and property policies and procedures
- Provide prompt and accurate responses to all client requests for proposals and information
- Consistently meet or exceed sales goals, including predetermined revenue and sales activity
- Attend appropriate trade shows and organize sales trips in local markets and feeder cities as directed by the Director of Sales
Requirements
- Minimum of High School education, post-high school education preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years in hotel service role or sales experience preferred
