Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Labor and Delivery team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to expectant mothers and newborns during the labor and delivery process.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor the condition of expectant mothers and fetuses during labor and delivery, ensuring their well-being and safety.
  • Administer medications and assist with medical procedures as needed, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans.
  • Provide emotional support and education to expectant mothers and their families, promoting a positive and empowering experience.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, fetal heart rates, and contractions, maintaining accurate and detailed patient records.
  • Assist with the management of high-risk pregnancies and emergencies, staying calm and focused in high-stress situations.
  • Prepare patients for labor and delivery, assisting with the birthing process and caring for newborns, including initial assessments, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with breastfeeding.
  • Ensure a safe and sterile environment in the labor and delivery unit, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, staying current with best practices and advancements in labor and delivery nursing.
Qualifications:
  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in labor and delivery nursing, with a strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in high-stress situations, with a willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
