Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Inpatient Staff team at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, identifying physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and environmental variables affecting patient care.
  • Develop and implement individualized nursing plans of care, incorporating patient and family education, discharge planning, and timely referrals.
  • Initiate and coordinate effective communication with physicians and other healthcare providers, ensuring seamless care transitions and patient safety.
  • Prioritize patient care needs, adapting to changing patient status and unit activity.
  • Participate in discharge planning from admission, documenting patient teaching, patient/family understanding, and timely referrals.
  • Apply Standards of Care in providing safe patient care, considering normal characteristics of growth and development throughout the lifespan.
  • Administer prescribed medications and perform treatments in a safe manner, utilizing knowledge of standards of care in medication administration.
  • Provide pain management and comfort support to patients and their families.
  • Anticipate patient needs, coordinating care activities with other hospital departments, healthcare providers, and community agencies.
  • Evaluate patient diagnostic data, intervening appropriately and comprehensively documenting treatments, assessments, and patient responses.
