Nuclear Medicine Technologist Travel Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team for a travel assignment in Albany, New York. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be responsible for preparing radiopharmaceutical agents and administering them to patients prior to using a scanner or camera to capture images.

The ideal candidate will have 1 year of experience and possess the following qualifications:

  • ARRT (N) National Certification with registration in Nuclear Medicine or NMTCB-CNMT
  • State-specific licensing when required
  • BLS certification

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will be responsible for:

  • Attaining required approval and signature by nuclear medicine physicians
  • Transferring, positioning, and instructing patients in preparation for procedures
  • Operating the scanner or gamma scintillation camera
  • Performing procedures including injecting radiopharmaceuticals under the direct supervision of a radiologist
  • Providing assistance to patients during procedures
  • Maintaining accurate patient records
  • Understanding and using the McKesson PACS system

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will work 40 hours per week, 8 hours a day, with a guaranteed pay package and tax-free stipend. The position requires the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean, or stoop without difficulty. The ideal candidate will have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
