Syms Strategic Group, LLC (SSG) is a leading provider of strategic solutions for the federal government. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to lead our continuous integration and delivery efforts. The successful candidate will have outstanding interpersonal, written, oral, and presentation skills. This role will involve working closely with software developers, production support, and information security teams to automate and support infrastructure and tooling in cloud-based platforms.

The ideal candidate will have expertise with build automation tools such as Jenkins, knowledge of source code control management systems and configuration management, and experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment build tools.

In addition, the selected candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and possess strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities
  1. Maintenance and ongoing development of continuous build/integration infrastructure.
  2. Source Control Management/Documentation.
  3. Creating and maintaining fully automated CI build processes for multiple environments.
  4. Writing build and deployment scripts.
  5. Supporting CI/CD tools integration/operations/change management and maintenance.
  6. Support full automation of CI/testing.
  7. Supporting policies, standards, guidelines, governance, and related guidance for both CI/CD operations and for work of developers.
  8. Training and supporting developers from source control through build automation, merge resolution, CI, test automation, deployment based on tools usage and policies, standards.
  9. Enable successful release management by moving code from Development and Testing environments to Staging and Production.
  10. Work closely with software developers, production support, and information security to automate and support infrastructure and tooling in cloud-based platforms.
Requirements
  • 8+ year relevant experience.
  • Azure experience mandatory.
  • Expertise with Jenkins, Git, GitHub, Tomcat, and Virtual environment.
  • Experience with content management and issue tracking (JIRA).
  • Experience learning, sharing, and implementing best practices with the ability to establish operational processes, implement DevOps, deployment checklists.
  • Prior experience with Agile-based Continuous Integration environments.
  • Knowledge of basic networking concepts.
  • Knowledge of system configuration tools and implementation of architectural frameworks.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Knowledge of developing solutions in an iterative approach.
  • Proficient with Linux and creating Virtual Machines (Vagrant).
  • Good understanding of Quality Control and Test Automation in Agile-based Continuous Integration environments.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
