Industrial Technician Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Industrial Technician to join our team at Konecranes Nuclear Equip and Services LLC. As an Industrial Technician, you will be responsible for conducting inspections, maintenance, and repairs on electric overhead traveling cranes and hoists at customer locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough inspections and maintenance on electric overhead traveling cranes and hoists to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, structural, and electronic issues on-site, utilizing your expertise and knowledge of industry codes and regulations.
  • Provide on-call service as part of a rotation, including after-hours support, to ensure timely resolution of customer issues.
  • Document findings and recommend corrective actions, including safety notifications to customers, to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Consult with customers on repair and safety issues, offering recommendations for material handling improvement, to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Produce electronic documentation using company tools, obtaining customer signatures, to ensure accurate and timely completion of service reports.
  • Stay updated on industry codes and regulations (OSHA, ANSI, CMAA, HMI) to ensure compliance and adherence to best practices.
  • Complete service reports and other required documents accurately and promptly, utilizing company-approved templates and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with the Field Operations Manager and Service Coordinator, following established practices, to ensure seamless coordination and execution of service activities.
  • Maintain company-issued equipment, vehicles, and assets in proper working order, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Operate tools, equipment, and vehicles, reporting deficiencies to the supervisor, to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Follow established safety rules and procedures, including customer guidelines, to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Participate in monthly safety meetings, contributing to the discussion and implementation of safety initiatives, to promote a culture of safety and well-being.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma required; Associate degree in Industrial Electrical and/or Mechanical Technology or related field preferred or equivalent vocational/technical training and experience.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience involving electrical troubleshooting and mechanical repair; some electronic experience but not necessary.
  • Prior experience with cranes is a benefit, but not required.
  • Must have and maintain a good driving record, including a valid driver's license.
  • Must be willing to work off the ground and travel, as needed, to ensure timely completion of service activities.
