Position Overview: Collaborative Support Programs, a nonprofit organization focused on mental health, is seeking a dedicated Housing Specialist to serve in the southern region. This role is pivotal in managing housing information and referrals for placements within the designated area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and nurture partnerships with landlords, brokers, referral agencies, and government housing organizations.
- Offer guidance and support to the service team in identifying and developing affordable housing solutions.
- Engage directly with residents, dedicating 55% of time to face-to-face interactions.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to address housing needs as they arise.
Employment Details:
This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, with eligibility for benefits including 6 weeks of paid time off and 11 holidays.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in a behavioral health field or equivalent education and experience in mental health.
- Experience working with individuals facing mental health challenges or disabilities in a compassionate and professional manner.
- Familiarity with real estate practices and knowledge of local and state housing regulations.
- Strong communication skills, especially in listening, mediation, and writing.
- Attention to detail for maintaining compliance with file requirements and contracts.
- A genuine commitment to assisting others.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Creative problem-solving abilities and adaptability.
- A valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
- Bilingual abilities are advantageous.
- Certification as a Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner (C.P.R.P.) is a plus.
Compensation: Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
