Quality Control Inspector

Astronics is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join our team. As a Quality Control Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting electronic systems, assemblies, subassemblies, components, and parts for conformance to specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Examine and test assemblies in a darkroom for compliance to illumination regulations.
- Inspect layout and installation of wiring, cables, subassemblies, hardware, and components to detect assembly errors.
- Perform return material analysis.
- Compare assembly with parts list to detect missing hardware.
- Examine soldering, both in process and in final, to determine acceptability per specifications.
- Examine alignment of parts and measure parts for conformance to specified dimensions.
- Trace cables and harness assemblies, following cable-wiring diagram, to verify routing of wires to specified connections and conformance of cable lacing and insulation to manufacturing standards.
- Perform First Article Inspections and first piece inspections.
- Examine parts for surface defects such as chips, scratches, and pinholes.
- Examine production documents to ensure that all assembly, inspecting, and testing steps are according to specifications.
- Record inspection data such as serial number, type and number of defects, and generate a non-conformance report for review by the MRB group.
- Precise completion of documentation.
- Review purchase orders to determine compliance of documents.
- Calibrate measuring gauges and tools owned and used within the company.
- Ability to focus on the task at hand and pay attention to details.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively and professionally interact with others in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem and to think in such a way as to produce a new concept or idea.
- Read, learn, understand and interpret safety rules, work instructions, blueprints, compliance documents, etc.
- Background check and pre-employment drug test required.
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Good overall computer skills, MS Office and e-mail programs.
- 1-3 years' experience of inspection of electronic assemblies.
