Job Summary

The Team Lead at Rack Room Shoes is responsible for assisting in supervising and managing all day-to-day store operations while ensuring 100% compliance with established Company policies and procedures. This role provides leadership, guidance, and training to store staff under the direction of the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager. In the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Manager, the Team Lead assumes full responsibility for all store operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and welfare of employees and customers.
  • Create and maintain an excellent customer shopping experience by providing service training and leadership to staff members.
  • Manage customer issues with a sense of urgency and to the satisfaction of our customers.
  • Process all POS terminal transactions in accordance with policy and procedure, including sales, discounts, refunds, loyalty, and open/closing procedures.
  • Conduct inventory control responsibilities, including adherence to policies and procedures regarding shipping and receiving, price management, singles, damaged merchandise, and physical inventory.
  • Manage sales floor merchandising and visual presentation responsibilities, including adherence to company standards for merchandise placement, sales floor maintenance, and promotional event directions.
  • Oversee payroll control responsibilities, including adherence to policies and procedures regarding scheduling, payroll budget compliance, and time and attendance.
  • Develop and train direct reports, including adherence to policies and procedures regarding training tools and customer service standards.
  • Contribute to loss prevention efforts by adhering to policies and procedures regarding the protection and control of Company assets.

Working Relationships

The Team Lead will work closely with customers, sales associates, store management, district/regional managers, and store operations and training personnel.
