We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Meat Department Leader to join our team at Kroger. Key Responsibilities- Lead and develop a team of meat department associates to achieve sales goals and provide excellent customer service.
- Plan, organize, and direct the daily operations of the meat department, including production, customer service, and inventory management.
- Develop and implement strategies to maximize sales and profits, while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Train and coach associates on meat cutting, wrapping, and display techniques, as well as customer service and sales skills.
- Monitor and maintain accurate temperature logs, ensure proper signage and product rotation, and maintain a clean and organized department.
- Provide input on department budgets, goals, and results, and make recommendations for improvements.
- Supervise and coach direct reports, complete performance reviews, and provide feedback to ensure associate development and growth.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment, manage conflict in a reasonable and non-confrontational manner, and act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues, and provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a meat department or similar role, with a proven track record of leadership and sales growth.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, and be available to work varied shifts.
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, safety, and food handling.
- Meat work experience or similar experience in food preparation.
- Past work record reflects dependability and integrity.
