Job Summary

The Army National Guard is seeking highly skilled and motivated individuals to join our team as Avenger Crewmembers. As an Avenger Crewmember, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the Army's premier shoot-on-the-move air defense weapon, the Avenger.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain the Avenger surface-to-air missile system
  • Identify, track, and engage enemy targets using radar and electronic systems
  • Transport, prepare, reload, and resupply missiles and ammunition
  • Establish and maintain radio communications with other units
  • Perform target engagement evaluations and operate friend-or-foe identification equipment
Requirements
  • Military enlistment in the Army National Guard
  • Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate
  • Must be between the ages of 17 and 35
  • Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards
  • Must meet citizenship requirements

Training and Development

As an Avenger Crewmember, you will receive comprehensive training in the operation and maintenance of the Avenger system. This training will include both classroom and field work, and will prepare you for a rewarding career in air defense.
