Job Summary

This position is responsible for developing, instructing, and collecting data on students in the areas of education, behavior, and social skills to reintegrate them to a public school campus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serves as a member of the educational management team.
  • Implements individual educational goals and objectives.
  • Collects data on students' progress.
  • Meets with classes as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as the principal/supervisor may, from time to time, assign.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree and current Arkansas certification in Special Education Instructional Specialist at the appropriate grade level. Additionally, they will have evidence of successful experience in working with students at risk, ability to work well with others, and experience in implementing non-aversive behavioral programs and social skills training.

Working Conditions

The employee will be required to sit, stand, walk, go up and down stairs, operate foot and hand controls, use a telephone, and write. They will also be required to lift and/or move up to twenty (20) or more pounds. The position requires accurate perceiving of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, handling and working with educational materials and/or objects, and providing oral information.
