Psychiatric Technician

We are seeking a skilled Psychiatric Technician to join our team at California Correctional Health Care Services. As a Psychiatric Technician, you will provide basic level of general nursing and behavioral and psychiatric nursing care to patients in a correctional health care setting.

• Organize and provide basic level of general nursing and behavioral and psychiatric nursing care to patients under valid authorization by a provider's order and the delegation and clinical direction of the Registered Nurse (RN).
• Provide support to the care team for daily health care operations and communicate effectively with patients and other members of the health care team.
• Address the ongoing needs of patients, work with the members of the larger health care team, and promote the efficient, appropriate, and cost-effective use of health care resources.

• Possession of a valid license to practice as a Psychiatric Technician issued by the BVNPTE.
• Ability to work in a correctional health care setting and provide care to patients with various mental health needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
