About the Role
The Dietary Cook is a key member of our food service team at Diversicare Healthcare Services & Diversicare Ther. As a Dietary Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals to our residents, ensuring that each meal meets the highest standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to recipes and portion control directives
- Ensure that all foods are handled, stored, and served in a safe and sanitary manner
- Monitor and maintain equipment, including refrigerators, freezers, and cooking appliances
- Collaborate with the Food Service Supervisor to plan and implement menus and meal services
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and facility staff to ensure that their dietary needs are met
Requirements
- Knowledge of quantity and quality cooking principles
- Understanding of portion control and quality assurance procedures
- Familiarity with modified diets and special meal requirements
- Ability to read, write, and understand instructions
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
