Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Smokehouse Clerk to join our team at Lowes Foods. As a key member of our meat department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional guest service, promoting our Smokehouse products, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Fun and Friendly Service: Engage with guests, answer questions, and provide product recommendations to ensure a positive shopping experience.
  • Smokehouse Ambassador: Actively promote our Smokehouse products through freshly prepared samples and story-selling techniques.
  • Pit Master Character Performance: Perform activities outlined in the Pit Master character performance description to create an immersive experience for our guests.
  • Operational Excellence: Maintain the department according to strict merchandising and operational standards, ensuring a clean and safe environment for guests and team members.
  • Quality Control: Ensure the quality of product for sale meets Lowes Foods standards, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Sanitation and Safety: Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department according to Lowes Foods standards, adhering to HACCP requirements.
  • Product Preparation and Service: Perform product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking, and guest service as necessary to achieve standards.
  • Light Meat Cutting Duties: Perform light meat cutting duties as needed, maintaining a high level of quality and efficiency.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform all other duties as assigned by management, including PA announcements and other tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Friendly, energetic, and outgoing personality with the ability to actively engage guests and provide exceptional service.
  • Team Player: Willingness to work well with others, lift 25 lbs. consistently, and 50 lbs. occasionally, and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Previous Experience: Previous meat cutting/trimming experience and culinary knowledge preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read and understand information and direction, knowledge of deli and meat department operations, and demonstrated ability to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
  • Guest Service Skills: Effective communication, guest service, and selling skills, with the ability to work well with computers.
  • Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time.
