As a Fitness Class Leader, you will manage various responsibilities simultaneously. Your duties will include demonstrating correct exercise techniques, ensuring safety during workouts, inspiring participants, and providing an outstanding fitness experience.
Effective communication is essential in this role, as you will need to ensure that all participants comprehend the instructions clearly. It is also vital to adapt your teaching style to cater to different fitness levels within your classes. Fostering a supportive and dynamic atmosphere will encourage participants to engage fully.
In addition to the physical aspects of the role, you will play a key part in building a sense of community. This includes remembering participants' names, celebrating their successes, and creating a welcoming environment. Furthermore, you will engage in discussions about memberships and services, balancing our commitment to helping individuals achieve their health and wellness goals with the operational needs of our business.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Lead group fitness sessions effectively
- Provide encouragement to clients in reaching their fitness aspirations
- Showcase proper form and exercise techniques
- Design and implement tailored training programs for participants
- Ensure that fitness classes are enjoyable, safe, and effective
- Adhere to the scheduled times and intensity levels of each class, accommodating varying participant abilities.
- Conduct classes and/or private sessions according to a regular schedule, minimizing substitutions. When necessary, ensure that all potential substitutes are contacted directly before seeking assistance from management.
- Arrive 15 minutes before class and stay for 15 minutes after to assist potential clients with inquiries about our offerings and to facilitate bookings.
- Enhance client attendance and retention through direct engagement.
- Collaborate with management by providing feedback, reporting maintenance issues, and discussing scheduling changes.
- Participate in mandatory meetings with management.
Qualifications:
- Current CPR/AED certifications are required
- Previous experience as a trainer or group fitness instructor is preferred
- Ability to train individuals at all fitness levels
- Passion for promoting health and fitness
- Strong rapport-building skills with clients
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment
- Outgoing personality with a desire to connect with members
Shift Availability:
- Monday to Friday, 5am-7am
- Monday to Friday, 8am-10:30am
- Monday to Thursday, 4pm-6:30pm; Friday, 4pm-5:30pm
- Availability to work at least one Saturday per month, 8:30am-10am
