About the Role:
Magnolia Marine Transport Co. is seeking a highly experienced Chief Marine Engineer to lead our team of marine engineers. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our vessels and adhering to regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Leading a team of marine engineers to ensure the safe and efficient maintenance of all mechanical equipment on our vessels
• Developing and implementing effective maintenance plans to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies
• Collaborating with colleagues to resolve technical issues and optimize equipment performance
• Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs
• Staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in marine engineering
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
• A strong background in marine engineering and leadership
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex technical issues
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively
• Valid US Coast Guard Merchant Marine Document with tankerman PIC dangerous liquids endorsement
