Compensation Package:

  • Signing Bonus: Eligible for a $7,500 signing bonus, distributed over the first 15 months.
  • Hourly Wage: $26.00 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect vehicle to ensure all mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is operational and clean.
  • Gather delivery instructions and confirm routes with relevant sources.
  • Drive assigned vehicle along designated routes safely.
  • Adhere to safety protocols while transporting goods.
  • Report any vehicle defects, accidents, or traffic violations promptly.
  • Maintain accurate logs of working hours, vehicle service, and repair status in compliance with regulations.
  • Document details such as weight, mileage, time, and fuel consumption.
  • Utilize GPS and communication devices to coordinate with supervisors and other contacts.
  • Adjust routes as necessary to optimize fuel efficiency based on real-time conditions.
  • Load and unload materials using specialized equipment when required.
  • Engage professionally with colleagues and clients.
  • Follow all departmental and company protocols.
  • Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality, essential for operational efficiency.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the business's effective operation.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Class A license and current DOT medical certification.
  • Must be at least 21 years old to comply with federal regulations.
  • Required endorsements (tanker and doubles) based on assigned vehicle.
  • A minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience with a satisfactory MVR.
  • Ability to complete an Entry Level Driver program if less than 2 years of experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Proficient in reading and speaking English as mandated by federal regulations.
  • Familiarity with DOT and FMCSA regulations.
  • Understanding of transportation and safety principles for road freight.
  • Capability to operate and monitor vehicle and equipment effectively.
  • Willingness to work overtime and adjust schedules/routes as necessary.
  • Minimal local travel; less than 5% overnight travel expected.

Physical Requirements:

Constantly (over 2/3 of the time):

  • Remain seated while operating the vehicle.
  • Monitor equipment performance.
  • Enter and exit the vehicle and equipment safely.

Frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time):

  • Communicate with coworkers, customers, and supervisors.
  • Lift, push, and pull materials weighing up to 60 lbs.
  • Perform physical tasks such as walking, climbing, and handling equipment.
  • Utilize electronic devices for navigation and communication.

Occasionally (under 1/3 of the time):

  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Handle materials requiring personal protective equipment.
  • Navigate wet or uneven surfaces.
  • Complete logs and reports both electronically and manually.
