KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the team leader for the electrical maintenance trades working group, utilizing advanced knowledge in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, structural, locksmith, and plumbing systems to oversee on-site repairs of facilities, machinery, and related equipment.
- Provide expert guidance and technical support to team members in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and associated systems.
- Plan and direct the installation or repair of diverse electrical equipment.
- Educate and supervise team members in interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to identify and troubleshoot issues within electrical systems.
- Train and mentor staff on standard calculations related to load requirements for wiring and electrical devices.
- Ensure the effective use of electrician's hand tools and testing instruments by team members.
- Collaborate with management to develop budgets and track the progress of project assignments.
- Contribute to performance evaluations for team members.
- Perform additional duties as assigned or requested.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is primarily conducted outdoors, but may also occur indoors in repair facilities. The role may involve exposure to moderate noise levels and extreme weather conditions. Travel to remote work sites may be necessary. Physical demands include frequent bending, stretching, and lifting/carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds, with assistance required for heavier loads.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants should possess a degree from a two-year accredited technical institution or equivalent training through a formal apprenticeship program. A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience is required, demonstrating journeyman-level proficiency in one or more building trades disciplines (Mechanical/Electrical/HVAC). Candidates must have a solid understanding of hand tool usage and the technical terminology associated with various electrical and mechanical systems. Basic computer skills and familiarity with software applications for record-keeping are essential. Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary. The position may require travel and the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance, along with a valid state driver's license.
